Digital Spend: Roughly half of US small businesses spent less than $10,000 on digital marketing last year, recent data from Clutch reports. The survey also found that 30% of small businesses just have one employee working on digital marketing.

Bot Traffic: Some 28% of website traffic comes from bots, according to an Adobe study cited by The Wall Street Journal. This high level of fraud should be alarming to ad buyers as they funnel more of their dollars through digital conduits.
